Irene was unable to get dialysis treatment today because of another needle infiltration early on in the process.  The photograph depicts her arm after she’s iced it all afternoon.  Her head is pounding from a massive headache and the nausea rages.

Since she’s now gone without dialysis Saturday, Sunday, Monday, she’s going for treatment tomorrow morning at 6.45 a.m., then back again on Wednesday.

This isn’t the way she had planned her week.
