Dear Dave & Irene, We are so thankful to hear that Irene is still improving. We will continue to pray for healing and strength and relief from the nausea. How are Irene’s eyes doing? Have the retina’s reatatched? I may have missed an update along the way. Thanks so much for your faithfulness in keeping us updated. Love, Dave & Bev

Hi Bev and Dave,
Thanks for your question about the retinas.
Irene received consultation from several members of the UCSF medical team. The detached retina’s from steroid treatment is a very, very rare side effect. In fact, no one at UCSF had ever experienced or had seen this side effect before. They did exhaustive research and discovered a paper written in 1986 which indicated that detached retinas could be a potential side effect from steroids.
So, all that being said, the recommendation was NO treatment. The hope is that the retinas would re-attach. They have. However, Irene still has blurred vision, especially in her right eye. They are still recommending that no action be taken at this time.
So, we also await for her vision to be restored…
