Are You Ready for Some Good News?

8 p.m…

Good evening…and are you ready for some GOOD NEWS?

If Irene’s blood platelet levels are maintained and she is able to keep food down with no other complications, UCSF is planning to discharge her on Friday afternoon!!!!  smile  smile

So, here’s the plan…

Thursday (tomorrow) we meet with all of the related medical teams, social services and pharmacy.  All coordination related to the dialysis and other out patient services will be finalized.

Friday morning dialysis is scheduled at UCSF and the afternoon is dedicated to removing a renal port that is currently in her neck.  Discharge follows.  Jocelyn and JoAnna will be on point this weekend to assist their mom!!!

Saturday morning dialysis is scheduled in Santa Cruz!!

All day Monday we’re back at UCSF for outpatient clinic services with the Nephrology team.

Tuesday more dialysis is scheduled in Santa Cruz.  Irene’s sister, Carmen, will arrive at our home this day to help Irene for the next few days.

Wednesday nothing is scheduled at this time.

Thursday more dialysis is scheduled in Santa Cruz.

Dialysis will be scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in Santa Cruz.  Clinics at UCSF will be weekly for the first month then less frequent.

We’re obviously REJOICING and PRAISING God for this wonderful news!!!!  Please pause and thank God with us for answering our many prayers.  Thank YOU for your prayerful intercession, care, concern, cards, flowers, well wishes, telephone calls, visits, blood donations and support for Irene during this most difficult journey…and please don’t stop praying!!!!!  Your prayers and support have carried us in so many ways!!!

The next 3-4 months will be a REST and RECOVERY season for Irene.  Her energy is still very low but she’s optimistic and hopeful that she will gain strength each and every day….

Please pray that there will not be any setbacks to this plan of action!!!

This is great news–we are so happy that all of our prayers are being answered and that she can go home. The power of prayer is evident daily with the many, many loyal believers who offer their ongoing support to Irene and all of you. This is truly a moment to rejoice as well as an affirmation of His Love for those who believe….Our love to all….

    Dear, Dear Irene & Dave….

I am near speechless as I ponder all that I have read at this website for the past couple of hours. I went to it only because a friend whom I have not heard from in over a year asked if I knew about Irene Dias being in the hospital. I realized I had only prayed once for you since hearing that you were ill, Irene, and wanted to see how you were doing. I found the website, and two hours later I am typing these words. My “To-Do” list has clearly been set aside as God had different plans for my day.

I have been transported into “your world” through the daily blog, and as I was transported, the Holy Spirit has been at work in my soul. There is no need to tell you what I have been going through in my life….we are all on a journey, and, as you well know, there are countless bumps, curves, turns, and pot holes in the road we travel; the bottom line is that He is inviting us daily to take His hand, trust Him, and be transformed into His likeness. We don’t always accept His invitation….even when we think we do.

Today, with tears of humility and gratefulness for His faithfulness, I am again holding on tight and accepting His invitation. As I wept this morning, a verse memorized back in my early years as a Christian, came vividly into my mind. As I began speaking the words (and dusting off the cobwebs), I scrolled to the next entry at your website. I saw Galatians 2:20 written beneath Dave’s name; that is the verse that God was speaking to me…. I only saw it beneath your name in the midst of crying out to Him to please show me that He is here….He is involved….He hears our cries….

The skeptic in me wants to make light of the “coincidence”…..much like could be done with Jocelyn’s “Andrae Crouch LP story”…..but the Holy Spirit whispers tenderly to me in my doubt, “I am here…”

Please know that your faithfulness through your suffering is testimony to His faithfulness. He is using all things for good….in countless lives. Thank you for sharing your heart and your journey on the website. And “thank you”, Lord, for the fact that Irene is going home tomorrow and for the answered prayers of those who love you!!! I rejoice with you!!!! My heart is with you and my prayers are lifted up on your behalf.

And one last thing….I really missed you and your “presence” at Monte Vista after you “retired” as receptionist, Irene. I know it was a long time ago, but I don’t know that I’ve even seen you since those days. I just wanted you to know.

    Under His Wing….Tracy (Galatians 2:20)
