Thanks for checking in. 

The dialysis team discontinued treatment one hour early today because of a number of complications and the pain that Irene was experiencing.  Both needles caused excruciating pain after using the “new” needle points of entry.  Although she didn’t get a full treatment today, Dr. Kumar said she will not have to return tomorrow to complete the session.  They will try to remove those additional toxins and the water weight on Wednesday.

This evening Irene is physically and emotionally drained, the nausea is raging and she’s trying to find that comfortable, resting position.

A friend sent me the following…

The economy is so bad that …I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.

Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children’s names.

A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico.

Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting.

Motel Six won’t leave the light on anymore.

Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.

Congress says they are looking into this Bernie Madoff scandal. Oh Great!!  The guy who made $50-Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5-Trillion disappear!

And, finally…  I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Lifeline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Yes even on the amyloid journey of faith, maintaining a sense of humor is mission critical…

8 a.m.

Irene had another rough night but is finally resting.  The NAUSEA late into the night was discomforting.  Hopefully it’s a better day for her…!!!
