It was a great day for Irene yesterday as we spent time in Pajaro Dunes with extended family members and cruised the Santa Cruz Harbor/Beach BoardWalk area on PROMOTION, West Marine’s sailboat.
The fun continues today……Irene’s nausea remained at a low roar yesterday so the boat ride didn’t add concern.
Thanks for caring…….Irene continues to inspire all of us in the manner in which she lives above her circumstances………!!!

Irene had a good weekend…celebrating Father’s Day in Modesto and enjoying most of each day.
Today’s “Monday”…..which means back to dialysis today…no episode but the nausea is raging this evening. She’s wrestling for that comfortable position but still smiling.

Irene is 5 years old today.
Yes, it’s hard to believe, but 5 years ago today Irene was given NEW life through the gift of an autologous stem cell transplantation, a procedure in which blood-forming stem cells (cells from which all blood cells develop) were removed, stored (actually, frozen), and later given back to her through blood transfusion.
Many of you have been with us along this surreal journey which started in the spring of 2007 and continues today…
Irene is eternally grateful for those prayer warriors who regularly intercede on her behalf.
The autologous stem cell transplant gave new life to Irene on this earth. Jesus Christ gives NEW LIFE to not only Irene but for all who receive him…not only for abundant life on this earth…but for all of eternity.
Happy 5th Stem Cell Transplant Birthday, Irene!
