Honey Do

Honey Do

9 am

Thanks for checking in…!

So, the new morning “recovery” is confirmed…Irene has already given me 3 tasks to complete that are on the “honey DO” list for today.

The Churchill Clan, lead by Shirley & Ken, graciously dropped a beautiful bouquet of purple flowers on the porch last evening. It was a refreshing sight for Irene!!!

”…his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.”

Psalm 30:5

Irene’s really looking forward to “no dialysis” today or tomorrow.  One more 3 hour session on Monday morning before we drive to UCSF for the appointment that afternoon with Dr. Eichler.

Stay tuned and thanks for caring,
Dave

The Lord Will Fight For You While You Keep Silent

7 p.m.

BRUTAL is the best word I can think of relative the last 2 weeks of Irene’s journey of faith.  She’s endured enormous physical and mental challenges…much more than what anyone can remotely begin to understand…except the Lord Himself.

Her quiet and gentle perseverence reminds me of this verse:

Exodus 14:14: the Lord will fight for you while you keep silent

Here’s a brief summary…another needle entry today, a dangerous drop in her blood pressure while later her pulse is racing at 120 beats per minute….certainly a HUGE stress factor on her heart.  The needle “stealing” was mitigated by direct heat on the fistula region.  The nausea RAGES and her equalibrium has been a challenge.  She’s exeperiencing sever cramping and chronic weariness.  I liken it to a boxing match where she’s facing an opponent and the rules prevent her from punching.  All she can do is try to duck, spin and try to avoid the continued pummeling of her assailant.

Hoping for recovery and a better tomorrow.

She silently awaits the Lord battling on her behalf.

Thanks for caring,
Dave

Another Needle Entry Point

5 p.m.

Thanks for checking in.

Irene completed her 2 hour make-up at dialysis treatment today and experienced a second day of blood pressure dropping to extremely low levels.  She’s home, exhausted and nauseated…but now resting…and gets to go back for another 3 hour session tomorrow.  Another new needle entry point today…her arm is more like a pin cushion…

She’s enduring a rugged journey…with a quiet, gentle and faithful spirit.

Thanks for caring,
Dave
