There are public signs of Christmas Spirit all around us …. with holiday décor on almost every street corner and music ringing in retail stores everywhere ….

Our home is also filled with the Christmas Spirit …. with melody filling the rooms and décor accenting the Day of Celebration coming upon us very soon; especially Irene’s “Christmas City” that comes alive this time of the year.

We were up and out of the house early this morning retrieving a Christmas tree and made great progress getting the decorations up with more to do in the coming days to complete the effort.

Shirley Churchill spent two+ plus hours with Irene working on physiology techniques intended to wake up the kidneys.  Jocelyn was also in and out a couple of times today, helping keep our house in order.

The Spirit filled Paul declares ….

…. if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10

The Christmas Spirit may be publicly displayed and may decorate our homes but the most significant place where the Christmas Spirit resides is in our HEART.

…. and it is His heart that is manifested in the manger.

“…since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

Col 1:9b-13

In the above passage, Paul is a prayer INTERCESSOR, asking God to fill the Colossians with spiritual wisdom, understanding, and beyond.  In my humble opinion, Irene personifies the manifestation of YOUR INTERCESSORY PRAYER in like fashion.

For Irene longs to:

•  live a life worthy of the Lord
•  please him in every way
•  bear fruit in every good work
•  grow in the knowledge of God
•  be strengthened with all power with endurance and patience
•  joyfully giving thanks to God

…for the ultimate fulfillment of that longing is directly related to answered prayer, and the empowering Holy Spirit.

After driving herself to and from dialysis this morning Irene started decorating the house with Christmas accents.  It was a good beginning with the hope that we can finish this weekend.  She persevered through the nagging nausea and also spent some time in personal reflection.

We are so grateful for the power of INTERCESSORY prayer.  It’s my prayer that all people, everywhere, whether facing a similar challenge or not, will live for what Irene longs for…to joyfully give thanks to God and glorify Him in any and all circumstances.
