Consider It All jJoy

Consider It All jJoy

8 p.m…

I told a close friend the other day that we feel like God is growing us.  Growing us in terms of deepening our trust and confidence in Him.  He wants us to trust him as Job did in verse 13:15, where Job declares, “though he slay me, yet will I hope in him”.  That is AMAZING trust.

I also think of the verse in James 1:2-4….”Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”  Now, that’s a worthy GOAL!

Irene had dialysis treatment again today.  I had an InterWest meeting in Monterey this afternoon so we made arrangements with a home health agency to have one of their attendants in our home with Irene.  The experience, according to Irene, went well.

Irene also experienced a much better day related to her tummy.  We’re hopeful this new nausea medication combination will deliver positive results!  So far so good… at least at the time of this writing!!

Jocelyn joined us for dinner and was helpful around the house this evening.

We are trusting God for great days ahead!!!  We’re grateful that he is growing us and learning what it means to “consider it all joy…whenever we face trials…”  We also endeavor to be “mature and complete, not lacking anything”.

Thank you for your love and concern.

UCSF Clinic

UCSF Clinic

8.30 p.m…

Good evening!

The UCSF clinic went very well today. Irene was given one unit of blood because of a low red blood cell count. However, are you ready to hear some good news? Irene’s blood platelet count is now at 122!!! The target range is 140+. She is moving toward that target count rapidly. You may recall that last Thursday the count was 93; last Tuesday it was 77. This is very encouraging news! The bilirubin count is now at 8.7!!! This is also exceptional news, given the historical counts over the last several weeks hovering in the 12-14 range. The target range is 1.5. Clearly, it is moving in the right direction!

Irene’s most significant and continuing challenge is her ability to keep food down. We have started on a new nausea regime…again! Hopefully this will be just the right combination to support her during this healing transition.

In the meantime, however, we’re rejoicing in these recent blood count developments and are reminded of Psalm 72.19: “Praise be to His glorious name forever. May the whole earth be filled with His glory”.

Perhaps you have noticed the addition of some wonderful photos of nature with scripture verses added to our UPDATES over the last few days. We’re grateful to Hosannah Loh, who is allowing us to display her art on Irene’s website. You can see more of Hosanna’s inspiring work at http://www.naturespraise.com.

Thanks for caring…
