At UCSF Early In The Morning

Last Thursday we were up early and arrived at UCSF by 7.30 am for the MRI of Irene’s cadaver vein related to her dialysis fistula surgery three months ago.  Scott Bush, who also owns this great website, conducted the MRI and we met with Dr. Charles Eichler.

The MRI showed that the Fistula is functioning well.  The “stealing” effect is gone and UCSF wants to monitor/examine Irene again in three months.  We’re grateful for Dr. Eichler’s surgical expertise…!!!

Last night (Saturday, October 29), we met with long time friends Susan & Bob Nishizaki in JAPANTOWN, San Jose CA, for a great time of fellowship and dinner.

Irene’s nausea has remained at bay this weekend and for that we’re grateful.

Thanks for caring,
Dave

Reprieve

Thanks for checking in…!!!

After a pretty rough week, yesterday was a REPRIEVE from the daily grind that Irene’s been on.  We enjoyed a drive to Monterey and she “played” in the yard enjoying the almost perfect 78 degree day.  Her nausea came in waves but she managed to keep it at arms’s length.

She seizes every window of opportunity to “live above her circumstances” and is smiling throughout EVERY day…even those days that are more brutal than a mere blog entry can begin to communicate.

Thanks for caring,
Dave

Day By Day

6 p.m.

Thanks for checking in.

Irene’s having a rough evening following dialysis today.  It seems like MONDAYS are always the most difficult.  She’s battling a massive headache, unrelenting nausea (ranging at a 10+ on a 1-10 scale)…and fending off cramps from the withdrawel of fluids in her system.

Hopefully she’ll muscle and tustle through the night and bounce back tomorrow as has been her usual pattern…but then again, what is “usual” anymore? Finding that comfortable resting position alleviates the “fish out of water” flip flopping throughout the night…

Thanks for caring,
Dave
