Spasms

5 p.m.

Thanks for checking in.

Irene had another rough dialysis day.  Her blood pressure dropped to very low levels and she experienced significant kidney spasms.  The nausea rages this afternoon as she goes into recovery mode and hopes for a better tomorrow.

Thanks for caring,

Wrist

8 p.m.

Thanks for checking in.

Yesterday, Irene’s dialysis treatment was cut off after 1 1/2 hours because of fistula complications and excruciating pain.  Fortunately enough toxins had been removed so that she didn’t need to return today.  The medical team is discussing mitigation strategies since this issue is becoming chronic.

Irene’s blood is Anemic.  Translation: her energy level is also becoming a challenge.  She’s literally forcing herself out of bed each day but once she gets going she appears to manage well.  It’s just the initial getting going although she’s always feeling behind the energy 8 ball.

Irene’s WRIST doctor released her today although she still has very limited mobility.  She’s scheduled for hand therapy twice a week during the month of October.  She cannot bend her hand at the wrist yet and finger mobility is also limited.  She’s now wearing an edema glove to facilitate movement.

She remains determined although the emotional challenges are REAL.  Her verse today is remembering that Jesus promised to never leave us nor forsake us.

Thanks for caring,
Dave
