CHANGE is the operative word and mantra of this election season …. and it appears that the word “change” is always a good one for capturing the imagination of the voting constituency ….

However, consider the following ….

The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.

Ecclesiastes 1:8b-10

Irene drove herself to and from dialysis today and did the Starbucks routine on her way home.  She was somewhat fatigued afterward but did accomplish several household chores and raked the front yard on this bright sunny day on the Monterey Bay.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever
Hebrews 13:8

It doesn’t really matter what your particular persuasion is …. something that will never change is this: that politicians always promise more than they deliver.

God promises to be there for us as an unchanging and loving God.  He’s also given us His Word, which will never change, full of assurances that God Himself promises to deliver.  And, unlike elected politicians, here today and gone tomorrow, God always delivers on every promise.
