Thanks for checking in!

Irene had a positive experience at dialysis in Capitola yesterday and is grateful that there were 3 medical technicians that she knew from the Watsonville location. She worked through the usual recovery evening and had a reasonably good day today.

She’s back in Capitola on the chair at 2 p.m. tomorrow.

Irene’s usual routine continues, with the M, W, F dialysis days being significantly challenged by unrelenting nausea, headache, spasm and emotional challenge of remaining strong and vigilant. Non dialysis days also remain the same where people who see her don’t even realize she’s challenged by illness or disease because of her bouyant spirit and unending, signature smile.

Tomorrow begins a new chapter, however, because she will start having dialysis treatment in CAPITOLA. This is half the distance and in her wheelhouse…i.e., 41st Avenue is the retail hub of Santa Cruz County where Irene invests…or should I say, SPENDS, a great deal of time…

This substantial change will allow her much more flexibility on dialysis days…

Irene deeply appreciates the team at the Watsonville Satellite Dialysis Center who always looked after her safety and comfort. She developed many relationships there that she will miss…

For anyone who saw Irene today, she was the “picture” of health. She had an early morning eye appointment which went well…he was very impressed with Irene’s eye health. She also had lunch with her friend, Victoria. She also accomplished a number of errands today……..she’s amazingly resiliant…..and her smile radiates and lights up the room.
