He Lives

He lives.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:1-4, 14

The Word Became Flesh

Irene drove herself to and from dialysis treatment this morning.  Irene rested this afternoon with the balance of the day being used to thoughtfully and thematically decorate the house for the upcoming New Year!!  Irene said she couldn’t have done it without JoAnna’s “muscle”!!!

Irene loves the lyrics of this infamous Gloria Gaither song ….

Because He Lives

1. God sent His Son — they called Him Jesus,
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Chorus:
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

2. How sweet to hold a newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because Christ lives.

(Chorus)

3. And then one day I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory — and I’ll know He lives.

(Chorus)

Because He lives, we can boldly proclaim that our lives have context and purpose …. even when facing the colossal challenge named Primary Amyloidosis.

We can face tomorrow because our ultimate assurance is in Him.

Caminando con Fé
