Amyloidodis Article

Dr. Lloyd Damon has been “on point” since the inception of Irene’s admittance to UCSF in the spring of 2007.  Dr. Damon has talked to us several times about his “longest surviving amyloidosis patient”, but never revealed the patient’s name because of privacy matters.

The following LINK allows you to read Frontiers of Medicine, News from the UCSF Department of Medicine, which has an outstanding article where Paul Gilbert, Doctor Damon’s patient, and Doctor Damon himself, are interviewed.

What a Day at UCSF!

What a Day at UCSF!

Irene had her three month kappa light chain lab work/blood test (for Amyloidosis) of which we will learn results next week.  She’s wearing the beautiful scarf that Sally Collace gave to her last year and one of Irene’s favorite purple bracelets given to her by Cheryl Peterson.

Where’s Irene’s signature smile ….??  On a serious note, you’ll observe that the technician had to draw blood from Irene’s hand since trying to draw blood from the upper arm vein was futile.

Irene also had her H1N1 vaccination today after an affirming meeting with Dr. Lloyd Damon, her Oncology/Amyloidosis expert.

UCSF …. what a place …. where people give of their lives to save lives ….!!!
Thanks for caring,

Irene is scheduled for her three month visit and blood tests at UCSF on Thursday.
Thanks for caring,
Dave
