Thanking God in Abundance!

7 p.m…

Thank you in ABUNDANCE for continuing to checking on Irene’s progress!!

Irene just completed a 24 hour testing period to analyze the FEASIBILITY of her transitioning from dialysis treatments three days a week to two days a week. Test results will be reported to us on Tuesday. We’re very hopeful that her kidneys are functioning well enough to do so…

This is the third day in a row that Irene has been able to keep food down. We still “debate” the amount of intake she should have…My cheerleader “Pom Poms” just don’t seem to motivate or inspire her well enough…!! smile smile

Because of losing approximately 28-30 pounds since April 30th, Irene is COLD all the time. It’s hard to imagine being constantly cold in July!! However, the hand-made purple prayer shawl given to her by Christina Grabowski does warm her heart!!!!

A representative from VNA (Visiting Nurses Association) visited Iene today to evaluate ongoing in home physical therapy needs.

This evening we are thanking God in abundance for His faithfulness!! Thank YOU for your continued support!

If it’s any consolation, Dave, my dad was cold constantly after coming home from the hospital last winter —and that was in Phoenix! It’s normal, and it will pass as Irene gains weight, and her body recovers.
Small quantities of calorie dense foods ; no large portions on the plate–they’re overwhelming to look at. My dad’s favorite while on soft foods was a Stuffed Baked Potato soup we found at Safeway. Sweet things weren’t attractive to him at the time, and we could heat up the soup in 1/4 cup increments.
Every body is different, and part of the problem with illness is that it sometimes changes the patient’s tastes…sometimes hourly. Things that sounded good when they asked for them are a turn-off by the time they’re looking at the plate.
You know we’re praying, constantly. Our God is Irene’s Jehovah Rophe. He is our Peace. And He’s still More than Enough.

    Love y’all!
    Kathy
