One-Armed Gardener

10.30 am

Irene’s taking no prisoners this morning. We were at the nursery by 8.30 am where she was scouring the aisles for flowers. She’s been busy at home in Wisteria Garden since. Her resiliance is amazing…….

She boldly proclaimed this morning…….”I don’t have to worry about dialysis until Monday. Let’s get going…there’s lots to do…!”

NO pity parties allowed……she’s definitely living above her circumstances…….wonder how she does that?

Thanks for caring,
Dave

Another Day, Another Infiltration

5 p.m.

Irene had another very challenging day at dialysis. 4 needle sticks later the technicians were finally able to get placement but she endured significant amounts of pain throughout the session, finally ending abruptly when she could stand it no longer.

It’s been an exhausting day for her…emotionally as well as physically…her arm is very SWOLLEN and VERY purple. She’s endeaovoring to sleep it off this afternoon…and hoping for a better tomorrow.

There’s still no understanding as to WHY there’s so much pain in the region…lots of unanswered questions.

Thanks for caring,
Dave

Go Find Nice David

7 p.m.

Okay, my “warrior” handle has settled in so today I’m somewhat settled down………………I said somewhat………

In her usual way, Irene bounced back from yesterday’s horrific day but her arm is swollen and PURPLE. At least it’s her favorite color…….

We’re hoping that the “communication” to the appropriate sources will deliver a better result at dialysis tomorrow….stay tuned…..

…endeavoring to stay off the war path…..

…….thanks for caring,
Dave
