As previously announced, the release of Irene’s Journey of Faith is coming soon.

Irene is doing the “heavy lifting”; metaphorically, trekking up Mount Everest.  My job is to set up “base camp” for her along the journey.

Psalm 6:2

Because Amyloid is a disease of the bone marrow, this psalm of King David reflects the cry of Irene’s heart …. and that of many who prayerfully intercede on her behalf.

As we petition the Almighty God for Irene’s healing, there’s a more significant need for HEALING which strikes at the heart of all humanity …. the imperative healing of the heart ….

Why, you ask?

The heart is deceitful above all things ….
Jeremiah 17:9a

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way ….
Isaiah 53:6a

Carmen and Jane are visiting this weekend. After a PJ party last night they delighted in a “tamale” party today ….

Irene just keeps smiling ….

…. I’m “suffering” below with my modest serving of delicious tamales …. “pobrecito” me …. (poor me) …. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reality is that all of us are born into sin; our hearts are proud and insubordinate to God.  Metaphorically, we long to sit on the throne, rule our own lives and go our own way.

But that is contrary to the ways of God.  It is only the supernatural intervention of God’s Holy Spirit, placed in us when we accept and follow Jesus that we’re forgiven, in right relationship with Him, and willingly assent to His purposes.

So, here’s the question …. What does it take to have God’s supernatural intervention in the affairs of men?  God answers the question with this:

…. if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will HEAL their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

The responsibility is for us, as followers of Christ to ….

live in humility
pray
seek God’s face
turn from our wicked ways

In doing so, God PROMISES to respond by ….

hearing our prayers
forgiving our sin
healing our land
